Foundation Stage 1 (Nursery)

Foundation Stage One

Hello everyone and welcome to Foundation Stage 1’s area of the website.  Most people know us by the name of Nursery but our posh title is Foundation Stage 1!

Mrs Wilkinson is the teacher in Nursery and together with

Mrs Wharton, Miss Morgan, Mrs Dipper and Mrs Smith

we make it a happy, safe and fun place for all the children.

Important information is displayed on the Parent/Carer information board in the entrance to Nursery.  Please make sure that every child has a bag with spare clothes in case of little accidents!

Topic this half term – Summer 1: ‘All Creatures Great and Small’

We will be learning about small creatures from minibeasts all the way up to large dinosaurs.

We will be hunting for minibeasts in our woodland area and watching our caterpillars grow and turn into butterflies.

We will be learning about dinosaurs and digging for dinosaur bones.

Foundation Stage One Targets:

We have been working hard to set our learning targets.  We would also like all the children to be practising the following at home:

  • Reading/looking at books.
  • Writing our name, drawing and holding our pencil correctly.
  • Counting up to 10.
  • Independently getting dressed and going to the toilet.
  • Sharing toys and tidying away – 2 of our important “British Values”.

Our rewards:

We have a pebble pot for good behaviour which we try and fill so we get a treat,

it could be a sticker or something nice to eat!

Look at our Learning Journey display in the cloakroom area. We love talking about what we are doing and I’m sure you will be just as excited as we are!

If you do have any questions please do speak to your child’s Key Person.

Session times:

Mornings 8.50 – 11.50
